Every trade, the same sharp invoice

Whatever's on the side of the van, this is what goes out with your name on top.

Example invoices across 8 different trades, each on the same clean layout with your business name at the top and the total in bold. Some marked paid, some sent and waiting.

Example layouts across 8 trades, drawn here rather than exported. The real PDF is below, and yours carries your own logo.

Numbers we counted ourselves

About 500,000 UK construction businesses are missing from the official register. That is 57% of the industry.

Two government datasets count Britain's builders and land half a million apart. We did the arithmetic, named both sources and published the working so anyone can check it.

That is the standard the rest of this is held to. SoloDesks is built by one person, Sage Vinson, a developer rather than a tradesperson. So there are no war stories here. What there is instead: every tax threshold, statutory interest rate and day-rate figure on this site carries the source it came from and the date a human last checked it.

Doorstep to paid, no paperwork

One afternoon, start to finish. That's the whole of it.

  1. A carpenter measuring a timber board with a tape measure on a workbench4:12 pm1

    Quote on the spot

Measure up, tap in the lines, send it. You never take it home.

  2. A tradesperson in a hi-vis vest shaking hands with a homeowner on her doorstep4:31 pm2

    They accept with a tap

They open the link and tap Accept. You watch it land.

  3. A landscaper loading a wheelbarrow into the back of a work van on a frosty streetPaid by Friday3

    It becomes an invoice

One tap makes it an invoice. Goes quiet, it gets chased.

Common questions

What is SoloDesks?

SoloDesks is a simple web app for one-person trade businesses. You add clients, send professional PDF quotes, turn accepted quotes into invoices, and keep every job on a calendar, all from your phone.

Who is SoloDesks for?

Solo tradespeople: plumbers, electricians, painters, landscapers, handymen, cleaners, and any sole trader who quotes jobs and invoices clients.

Is SoloDesks free?

Yes. The free plan includes 10 quotes, 10 invoices, 10 emailed PDFs and 3 client accept-links a month, plus unlimited clients and jobs. Your own logo goes on every PDF on both plans. The Pro plan makes all of those limits unlimited, chases your overdue invoices automatically with Overdue Autopilot, and adds premium PDF styles, Pay-now links on invoices, and PDFs with no SoloDesks credit line.

Can SoloDesks chase late payments for me?

Yes. Overdue Autopilot (a Pro feature) emails your client a friendly reminder when an invoice is 7 days old, a firmer one at 14 days, and a final notice at 21, all under your business name, with replies going to you. It stops the moment you mark the invoice paid, and you can mute any invoice you'd rather chase yourself.

Can clients accept a quote online?

Yes. Every quote gets a private link your client can open on their phone and tap Accept. You see the status change instantly. The free plan includes 3 accept-links a month; Pro makes them unlimited.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. SoloDesks is built mobile-first, works in any browser, and can be added to your home screen like a normal app.

Built and supported by one person, Sage Vinson. Email support@solodesks.com and that is who replies.
